As the situation in the state has been gradually getting better, Curfew has been extended till 10 July 2021 with additional activities allowed with proper precautions. We urge everyone to get vaccinated at the earliest to ensure that the pandemic is controlled. Always follow the SOPs laid down by the Government while going out. 

New rules for vegetable vendors, grocery shops 


As per order issued by Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, agriculture, horticulture, MGNREGA works will be allowed, and stationary and optician shops outside the main markets of Thangal Bazaar and Paona Bazaar may open from 10 AM to 2 PM when grocery shops are closed.

Vegetable vendors and grocery shops may open from 7 AM to 10 AM on July 1, 4, 7 and 10, it said.

The Manipur High Court may decide its activities, based on various measures taken by the government, 


“The COVID situation in the state has improved compared to May 2021. However, a careful approach along with mass vaccination is required to ensure the pandemic is controlled,” it said.

“Further opening-up will depend on the COVID scenario and the progress in vaccination,” the order added.

Today at around 3:20  a team of Narcotic Cell Imphal West  under the supervision of OC N-Cell /IW and overall supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh MPS, SP Imphal West arrested two persons regarding transportation of illegal drugs

Today at around 3:20  a team of Narcotic Cell Imphal West  under the supervision of OC N-Cell /IW and overall supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh MPS, SP Imphal West arrested two persons regarding transportation of illegal drugs in Alto car cream in colour b/regn No. MN05A 7549.The said vehicle was coming towards Imphal side was detained at Canchipur. On verification they were identified as 1) Md. Nawaz Sharif (28) s/o Md. Zamalluddin and 2) Md. Anis (28) s/o Md. Ayub both of Haoreibi Makha leikai PO/PS Lilong, Thoubal Dist. Manipur and recovered 18 nos of soap cases containing Heroin No. 4 powder and 3 packets  containing 3,636 nos. of WY tablets from inside the dashboard of the car. Therefore,  they were arrested and the seized the suspected  Heroin No. 4 , WY tablets,  Alto car and two mobile phone with two jio SIMs from their possession. The arrested persons along with seized car, drugs and tablets are being handed over to Singjamei PS for further necessary  action.
