 MPCC observed the 152nd Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 117th Birthday Anniversary of  Lal Bahadur Shastri at Congress Bhawan by paying floral tributes and homage for their contribution today. 


Speaking on the occasion, former Chief Minister Shri Okram Ibobi Singh stated that the world knows Mahatma Gandhi and his principle of non-violence and how he defeated the British using non-violence as a weapon. 

He further stated that the birthday of the Father of Nation is recognised as the International Day of Non-violence by United Nations.
